As Seen On Facebook

So I'm on the Facebooks. It's a useful tool for me to stay connected to people. Like many, I’ve thought of quitting but I take the good with the bad.

Of course, I'll accept virtually any friend request, even if I don't know the person. The wife frowns upon my Facebook openness, but I'll constant meet people who know people who feel the need to friend me. If I find their feed annoying, I just block their feed.

That said, I still keep a lot of it open. And as I scan my newsfeed, I'll find a lot of things that bother me. But I usually refrain from commenting for a couple of reasons.

First, it’s too much work. See, if you post something ridiculous and I choose to comment on it, then you answer back and I'm forced to respond again, and it becomes a never-ending cycle. I have enough distractions in my life.

Second, I don't want to embarrass people. Sometimes people post things on Facebook in ignorance, so I don't want to have to call them out in a public form.

But there are still some things that need to be addressed. Over the year I’ve compiled these. Don’t take it personally, but a few thoughts:
-No one wants to read your political opinion

-If you use Ancestry.com, the Mormon church has baptized you.

-Just because I don’t copy/paste your quote in my feed doesn’t mean I don’t care

-Changing Facebook back to the old algorithm doesn’t matter because they still have all your data.

-Whenever you think about clicking that racy video thumbnail, know the the entire world will soon know you did.
